What's the joke?

What's the joke?, originally uploaded by Ashkarya.

Just before taking this photo, I think Chin Lai accidentally smacked the back of his palm on Aisha's face or sari veil. She's not grimacing in pain, she's laughing.

No, he didn't leave any lasting damage, thank goodness!

A Makcik and her Sister

snack break, originally uploaded by Ashkarya.

Taking a snack break before the akad nikah. Fresh from the kampung, the pregnant makcik had swiped some biscuits from Aisha's dad earlier in the day. Lucky thing she did too. A few minutes after arriving at the masjid, she was already hungry. The sister's probably dreaming about lunch...

It Happened in a Flash

Animated, originally uploaded by Ashkarya.

I like this photo. Somehow the flash from the other photographers must have gone off at the right moment. The pair are illuminated as if they are emanating or basking in their own light.

Note: all photos posted on Sam & Aisha's wedding events are taken either by Chin Lai or Jason. Most are by Chin Lai.

The Newlyweds

The walk down, originally uploaded by Ashkarya.

After a whirlwind two-day event that covered the Nikah, Aisha's reception and finally Sam's reception, the newlyweds are off to Bali for a much-needed vacation and honeymoon.

Have a lovely time, guys!!

That day

That day, originally uploaded by Ashkarya.

Nostalgia...this one got away from the many photos that were taken on our wedding day in Melaka. I think it was taken with Sara's then digital camera, first posted on Sasha's site a while back and I can't remember if I posted it here anytime before.

I like this shot because it's such a candid one among all the "posed" ones that we ended up with. I remember thinking that it was so corny and stiff to have to place my hand on his chest and smile into the camera. That is just so not...us; the whole posing and preening bit.

It was odd.

But this photo is ... one of a kind.
